Being Otherworldly

I stumbled across this fantastic list lately, printed it off and now keep it where I see it on a daily basis.

Today, I'm practicing #5.

The gardeners from yesterday are of course... the fairies :) And what could be more adorable
than a fairy house! Did you know there are entire websites devoted to this passion?

Thanks goodness, you might just need a door for your fairy house.
This is the one I'd choose!

or some enchanted stepping-stones...

Tee hee!

Create your own, utilizing the natural materials that surround you.

Or go all the way and build the next best thing to a fairy house: a treehouse for adults :)
This is so cool.

  1. Just looking at that Tree House is enough to lower my own BP...I have chosen the medium "Pixie" door for myself...

    1. Isn't that tree house amazing? I imagine spending all my free-time in there reading and napping :)

  2. That is a terrific list! I will be practicing number 8 this morning. I love singing in the shower. I get in there and suddenly transform into Shania Twain. Can't say the voice is quite up to par with hers, but hey, I give it my best shot!

I adore that fairy house door. Talk about super cute. I don't even need the rest of the house, just the door. LOL...

What a great idea - a tree house for adults. That would be a great place for me to hide in when I need moments of solitude. Of course, it would have to be hidden by other trees, so no one could find me.

    1. Lol, I had no idea - too bad that Canadian Idol is no more..!! That reminds me that I will have to post about American Idol - tryouts are underway and I am once again addicted :)

I know - the doors are oh so adorable.

We should all have our own tree house and I agree, I'd want complete solitude.

  3. Foreign films was a surprise for me. I always stayed away from them because I didn't want to be bothered with reading subtitles. Then one day while while flipping thru channels (back when I still watched commercialized TV) I ran across a movie called "3-Iron" by director Ki-duk Kim. It was a South Korean film with very little dialogue. I couldn't stop watching it. So I ordered up another on of his movies from Netflix called "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring". Another movie with almost no dialogue that I couldn't stop watching. They were just as intriguing to me as American films. So now I watch foreign films with subtitles without a second thought.

    1. I have to admit that I have, for the most part, always avoided foreign films. Now you've got me thinking I may be missing out without realizing it.

  4. Love the all-natural loo! And I'm glad to see that #24 on the list practices what it preaches.

  6. Z listy niestety nie wszystko rozumiem. Mój angielski nie jest taki dobry :-(. Drzwi do domu wróżki są świetne, a domki dla ptaszków pomysłowe. Pozdrawiam. *** From the list, unfortunately, not all understand. My English is not so good :-(. Door to the house of the fairies are great homes for birds and inventive. Yours

A great life motto - without #32 what do we really have?

  9. I agree with that list of yours. I fear that one about the computer might be somewhat true I spend to much time on here. But then I would not have met such a great a blogger as yourself. You always share very interesting things.

  10. From the list, #27 was something that my mother-in-law used to do, she had a good command of the French and English languages. I had not though about what she did in years, Jane's list made me remember. She was a wonderful person, loved to bake, cook and was a great seamstress.

I think a quiet get-away spot is something every human being deserves. I like the fairy door too. Looks very solid and safe.

Do you think a fairy needs a loo?......lol

    1. How interesting re your mother-in-law. She sounds like she was quite an accomplished woman.

Lol, I assume they do - or why else would the fairy Home Outfitters sell them?!

  11. LOL Jane, I think you practise No 5 quite often :) This is a great list. I watched a foreign film last night - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo original Swedish version. It was great :)

I am going to print this list out and start doing these. I am re-reading "The Artists Way" by Julia Cameron but can't seem to get started. This might kick start me :)

    1. Lol Annie - I think you may be right :)

I was working my way through "The Artists Way" last spring - it's a great book, but I found it hard to remember to do the 'morning pages' first thing each morning. I also have "The Sound of Paper." You'll find a few posts re these under my labels at the bottom of this page.

  12. Great list. Surround yourself with creative people really resonated. Nice that in the blogiverse we can do exactly that!

I've often wondered if faeries came to the new world. I believe they dd but I also am one of those people who thinks they have a dark side that we have to be careful not to cross.

    1. Hi Francie, I really liked that one as well, and I like how you made a connection to the blogging community - so true - we are a creative bunch :)

Not sure, but I think I'll refrain from any further 'loo' jokes just to be on the safe side!

  13. Good morning, I'm catching up on my reading this morning, I remember that Idol tryout! Died laughing all over again! I want to make a fairy house and yard like these. My niece would love to walk up and find this! And I had to print me a copy of your list! I made a list once years ago about all the things I loved, something out of a self-help book. My husband saw it on my desk and I about cracked up! I had listed him as number ten!!!! Below the cat! AND the color pink! I didn't realize I had done that!! :-) I had to make a new list so he would stop pouting like a baby!
    Oh well.
Enjoy your day, from me and Wilma
(Oh, I'd probably list Wilma ahead of him now!)

    1. Lol, I love that you unconsciously listed your hubby number ten - that's something I could see myself doing! We're going on 28 years of marriage and he might be lucky if he even made the list! Definitely not a reflection on how I feel about him - it's just that I "love" so many things! I'm watching American Idol as I type! Thanks for your fun comments :)
