My Cup Runneth Over!

When I started blogging just over a year ago, I had no idea what I was getting myself into - it's addictive and sometimes that's been a problem for me, lol, but I've had also had so much fun, learned a lot (through my own research and reading so many blogs), and 'met' some really interesting people; a few I like to consider friends. Over the past few weeks, I have visited and become a new follower of some great blogs - it's easy to get into a comfort zone and I wanted to branch out a bit. One blogger from a blog I'd only very recently joined, kindly surprised me with a Liebster Award today! Thank you Scrappy from Yorkie Tails :) Scrappy is an adorable Yorkshire Terrier with an amazing sense of humor and fashion - I only wish we lived closer; she and Emma could get together... Emma would love a little buddy!
Liebster is a German word meaning dear, sweet, kind, nice, good, beloved, lovely,
kindly, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome.

Part of the terms for accepting this award, are that I pass the love on to 5 other
bloggers - you can check out the full 'agreement' on Yorkie Tails here.

~ In advance of my choices, I'd just like to say that I realize a lot of people have opted for
award-free blogs and I totally respect that decision ~

My 5 picks are:

1. Martha from Plowing Through Life. Martha's blog is what I also consider my blog to be: a cornucopia of interests, some of which include trivia, history, gardening, animals, humor, childhood memories, book reviews and the occasional serious post where she tackles tough issues head on without apology. She was my very first follower and I always appreciate her encouragement, dedication and positive outlook.

2. John (WebDebris) from Remembering the 70's. John's blog is one of the first blogs I head to everyday. It's a fun look at everything from the 70's: clothing, candy, toys, games, music, commercials, books and movies to name a few! I don't know how he manages to find everything he profiles, but there's a surprise waiting for you each and everyday. He has also been a great encourager of mine, a faithful reader and commenter.

3. Lael from Soular Sister. Lael's blog is another favorite of mine. She shares straight from her heart and it's oftentimes touching, but mostly just hilarious!! No one does stream of consciousness like Lael :) She has educated me on numerous very worthy topics, the latest being Kiva - an organization which "empowers people around the world with a $25 loan."

4. Mel from Mel's Backyard. Mel is a fellow Albertan and I always appreciate her straight-from-the-hip musings on life. She is hilarious and displays that sense of humor all over her blog. Out of the kindness of her heart, Mel recently surprised me by sending me the lovely gift of a journal, notebook, notecards and pens - all because I'd entered a number of giveaways on her blog and hadn't won. I was stunned and incredibly appreciative of her generosity. Here's a pic of my gift :)

5. Debra from She Who Seeks. Debra's blog is a happening place! She has many dedicated followers all eager to chime in with their comments to her very humorous, interesting and oftentimes educational posts: many of which include reference to her cat HRH (Her Royal Highness), as well as The Divine Feminine, labyrinths and our national sport, hockey. Debra buzzes around the web like nobody's business and I stumble across her everywhere! Her comments are witty and succinct, and I appreciate her visits.

Thanks once again to Scrappy from Yorkie Tails for honoring me with this award!
I hope everyone takes a few minutes to visit each of these very worthy blogs :)
