I ain't been droppin' no eaves sir, honest

I was just cutting the grass under the window there, if you'll follow me

How I adore all things Rings. The movies are well known all over the world, and so is the village Hobbiton where the Hobbits in the trilogy were living. The beautiful little houses surrounded by amazing nature were located in Matamata in New Zealand during filming, and they still are.

Now the Hobbit houses are used by a farm nearby. More precisely, their sheep have moved into the village where they are using the hobbit houses. Nowadays you can get a tour around in Hobbiton to see the famous Hobbit cabins and also pet the lambs. This is an amazing website. I must get to Hobbiton, if only for a visit. I'd really just like to move in though and be the gardener like Samwise Gamgee.

Interestingly, a few weeks ago I came across a parody of the Rings in my travels:

I had a good laugh looking through it, but resisted bringing it home.
The cover I was looking at stated it was
"NOT the inspiration for ANY epic motion picture"!
