I agree that it's pretty, but tomorrow morning it'll just be depressing - I hope it melt quick. Yesterday I ran errands with my daughter and she was wearing sandals!
Noooooo... You're kidding me? I think I'd just about die if that happened here right now, especially since so many plants are starting to sprout...and with the bulbs flowering. But March is so unpredictable that you just never know!
Hi Martha, This morning we basically just had little mounds in the middle of our yards left - everything else was bare! I was half thinking of cleaing away some old vines over the weekend - the new shoots will be coming up very soon - I guess not now :)
Oh my horrible! Not to gloat but it was 24 here today. The tulip tree up the street is breaking into flower today. There are daffodils and hyacinths flowering. It will be serious here if we get anything like that now.
But take heart it won't last long for you hopefully.
Well I hope you don't get a spring storm... I was going to say a late spring storm, but it's only March... you should NOT be having the temperatures you're getting at this time of year - something very strange for sure.
I second that 'yuck'!! I was thinking about raking up apple tree leaves in the back yard, as one side of the lawn was basically bare of snow. Guess that will have to wait a bit!
I love the look of snow, but I don't like the reality of it. Where I live it's been quite mild, but with a lot more fog than usual. I'm looking forward to some real sunshine. You'll probably be in the 70's next week, as the weather just seems to be getting more changeable everywhere!
Crazy weather all over the place. We had 70f yesterday and will be the same or warmer through the weekend. Then at least 20 degrees colder next week! Mother Nature is outside the box for sure...
It is crazy - some places are having summer temperatures in March... I just hope these warmer temps are accompanied by rain or we'll soon be in trouble.
Oh no!! I do love snow but the weather here is starting to turn... I went shopping today with no jacket and bought sunglasses! can't wait for summer! Hope it disappears quick!
Awesome scenery non the less. Very serene and I would enjoy it (though I do know you are anxious for spring.)
I watched the first DVD of Game of Thrones. I don't know who to hate more. I am only thru two episodes and I have reason to dislike almost everyone! lol But this series is very intriguing and I am looking for the next DVD. :)
Eek! What happened? Oh... I forgot it is still March isn't it? Hard to believe after this weather we've been getting here. Beautiful photos though, Jane!
You wouldn't want to see the photos that I posted, taking a walk outside the other day wanting to catch the sunset. At any rate, beautiful photos of the last of the snow, you're getting!
Hi Elisabeth, I visited your blog and I'm jealous :D They are beautiful shots :) I sure hope this was the last snow of the season! I'm looking forward to posting some prettier shots myself, in the very near future.
Nie, to jest okropne, dość już bieli, chyba chcesz już kolorów wiosny. Pozdrawiam.*** No, this is awful, enough of the white, unless you have the color of spring. Yours.
Wasn't this a bit of a surprise. I sent my kid to school in splash pants and rubber boots. Almost makes up for Monday when it was supposed to snow (and didn't) and I sent her in snow pants and winter boots. There's just no winning. But secretly, my inner (wannabe) gardener is happy for the moisture!
Ewwwww!!! Our winter was almost non-existent this year. My fruit and almond trees are already done with blooming, but I didn't see any bees out pollinating. We're a full three weeks ahead of schedule. Crazy!
Hi Laurie, For the most part, we also had a very mild winter, and very little snow cover. The last big dump (I hope it's the last) is always painful... :)
I love looking at your snowy photos Jane...makes me feel cooler! But the novelty of it must wear off pretty quickly. It is starting to cool down here, at last, but we've had no rain since the 26th of February, and that was only 0.8 mm. Roll on autumn :)
Hi Annie, You are so correct - the novelty very quickly wears off! We had no snow here until this morning - Mother Nature's up to her tricks again - April Fools!!
But it's still so pretty...I love snow...even in the spring!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree that it's pretty, but tomorrow morning it'll just be depressing - I hope it melt quick. Yesterday I ran errands with my daughter and she was wearing sandals!

DeleteEwwww! I am so over the snow now, hope we don't get anymore. So sorry, but it will melt soon!
ReplyDeleteEven a few weeks ago I would have thought it was pretty, but like you I am so sick of winter now.
DeleteWe had freezing rain this morning - very scary!! The snow that we got the other day is all gone.
ReplyDeleteOk, that can be my silver lining...I would rather snow than freezing rain anyday - so dangerous.

DeleteSince I live in Edmonton too -- my day is going DITTO! Plus I hear it will still be snowing tomorrow. How unfair is that?
ReplyDeleteYou know what they say - misery loves company!!
Delete26C today... not enough snow all season to get excited about, but - the farmers around here are far from happy!
ReplyDeleteThat's ok - the farmers are never happy!
DeleteI second that 'yuck'!! I was thinking about raking up apple tree leaves in the back yard, as one side of the lawn was basically bare of snow. Guess that will have to wait a bit!
ReplyDeleteI had been half-thinking about tinkering around out there myself this weekend...
DeleteYou are so lucky! I would be building me a snowman! Make one for me Jane, pretty please?
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I won't be setting foot out there this weekend, expect to run to the grocery store!

ReplyDeleteExactly, it's very pretty until you have to go out in it. We're supposed to be warming up over the next few days, so I expect it'll melt quickly.

DeleteI remember from growing up in Connecticut how unwelcome end of March snow is! Here's hoping it melts soooon!!
ReplyDeleteI remember being completely snowed in when we were supposed to be on March spring break!
DeleteHi Jane - I love Winter so I am so enjoying this post, thanks! :-)
ReplyDeleteLove Gail
peace......
I really like winter too Gail :) but it's been a long one and now that we've had a taste of spring, it's hard to go back!
DeleteOh no!! I do love snow but the weather here is starting to turn... I went shopping today with no jacket and bought sunglasses! can't wait for summer! Hope it disappears quick!

Lol, I know what you mean - these characters will totally surprise you, just when you start thinking they're ok, their true nature surfaces.
DeleteEek! What happened? Oh... I forgot it is still March isn't it? Hard to believe after this weather we've been getting here. Beautiful photos though, Jane!
ReplyDeleteYou're right - with all this wonderful weather we've been having, I think we forgot, lol!

Hi Tracy, It's hard to stay one step ahead of Mother Nature this time of year. Ok, I guess the extra moisture is a blessing!
DeletePassei para uma visitinha.
ReplyDeleteO meu dia está ensolarado, com muito calor.
Estamos no outono mas parece verão.
Boa semana!
Beijinhos.

ReplyDeleteDare I say it, here the weather is unseasonably warm!
Hi Tracey, I'm really enjoying living vicariously through your spring walks :)
