I recently won the Poe 'n Raven giveaway hosted by Debra from She Who Seeks :)
Here is The Raven, my new foul-feathered friend keeping a keen eye on me from his appointed perch, high upon my bookshelf. With all his croaking, Nevermore shall I have a moments peace it would seem!
As well, my gift included this attractive theme box & little book
containing Edgar Allen Poe's celebrated poem The Raven.
For me, the best part of winning this giveaway was the added opportunity to meet Debra for coffee (& a muffin ;) at the Wild Earth Bakery & Cafe here in Edmonton.
Many of you may be wondering what Debra is like. Down to earth and soft-spoken are the first words which spring to mind. I even managed to sneak a photo of her for you when she wasn't looking :DDD
It's amazing -- she looks exactly like she does in her profile pic!
Thanks again for everything Debra, I had a great time meeting you and Love my prize :)
I am not jealous. Nope. Not one bit *sniff, sniff*

ReplyDeleteNice! I have just recently started reading some Edgar Allen Poe though I haven't really read him enough to have an opinion. Oddly, I really enjoy reading Shakespeare. (Though it takes me forever to finish one as I have to reference many things to understand them.) I find him to be very humorous and love that the stories full of twists and turns.
ReplyDeleteShe looks exactly the same as I pictured her! That is amazing!! And I congratulate you on your win, Jane.

ReplyDeleteCongrats on the beautiful Poe Prizes from Debra. I came over from her blog to meet you! Don't worry, I am not X-rated, nor do you need to feel obligated to join my blog. I do love your header, and am enamored of the pic of Viggo/Strider on your sidebar. I am envious you were able to meet Debra face to gloved hands!
