"Strange days indeed -- most peculiar, mama"

Seeing as today is 'Peculiar People Day,' I though I'd share a few pics from
Men's Fashion Week, which kicked off this past Monday in London!
The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines the word peculiar as:
Different from the usual or normal
Curious
Odd
Special
Eccentric

Women's runway fashions have always been a bit peculiar and quite often unwearable ---
I think it's high time the designers started picking on the guys!
Chyba trudno będzie mężczyzn w takich ubiorach zobaczyć na ulicach :)
ReplyDeleteI think it will be difficult men in such garments seen on the streets :)
Who in their right mind designs this sort of rubbish - and who the hell would ever wear it? The big snood-hood and mittens are hilarious! Yes, it's time the men had a taste of it!
ReplyDeleteYup. Time to pick on the guys. Can you imagine someone wearing these crazy outfits? And paying a small fortune for them. Crazy!
ReplyDeleteDANG, those dudes in pic #3 have some awesome legs!!!! They need lasered of course, but life is so unfair!!!
ReplyDeletevery strange
ReplyDeleteTime men took back their testicles, I think.
ReplyDeleteThose big mitts would be handy for snowmobiling, I think.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the grey colour of those head boards would go nicely with my green eyes....
ReplyDeleteBut nom nom nom on the naked legs and abs in some other pics :)
Really? What drugs are these people on? The comments are making me snicker though!
ReplyDeleteLOL!! These 'fashions' are hilarious. I particularily like the gladiator/medieval armour meets Cossack boots look! And I don't agree that their legs are awesome. So so would be the best I could give them, and a few look anorexic!!
ReplyDeleteThat red outfit looks perfect for boxing in the snow. I wonder how hard you can hit someone while wearing braided, oversized boxing gloves?
ReplyDeleteI don't know how those guys can walk the runway with a straight face!
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't know what to say! How about "freaky"? LOL
ReplyDeleteOdd. But fashion always is. It used to be glamour and beauty now it's weird. Some day some designer is going to buck the trend by going classic and elegant and get huge press for doing so. Because that will be outside the norm!
ReplyDeleteI did notice that most of them want to cover up guys faces. (lol)
ReplyDeleteOh man - that is priceless! fantastic, and so worth the giggle - thanks for that
ReplyDeleteI want those big mittens! LOL! Thanks for sharing these pictures! You made me smile and laugh ;o) LOL! But, I have to say, I love those mittens! ;o)
ReplyDeleteCartoon hands! These pictures are still making me chuckle....a half hour after I viewed them the first time. I keep coming back for a look!
ReplyDeleteThey all look like a bunch of sissies! See what people will do for money and publicity if given the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind the pink outfit for me though, I rather like that one.
Jane, where do you find your material?.......you always give us some giggles and smiles.
Oh my, these are ridiculous, I wonder how the guys felt wearing this stuff. Honestly for me nothing beats jeans and a white T (or a manly man in a kilt). I don't know much about fashion, but I do know what silly means!
ReplyDeleteTotally fabulous..they are Rockin it!
ReplyDeleteI saw that too Jane and my first thought was "what the %&$#?!" Just amazingly ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteSo was the theme cobble together bits and pieces from a utility drawer? Or attract the most attention?
ReplyDeleteThis was fun, but it seems a little sad too. In the first couple of photographs, the men seem to be annihilated; their personality stamped out. I love it though--I mean, visually they are so striking!
ReplyDeleteIn the rest of the photographs the men seem to be emasculated . . . I mean, they are so interesting, but sad again.
. . . I think I'm over thinking things again. Time to go eat a cupcake ;P Thanks for sharing these peculiar images, Jane :)
What strange fashions! Hmm...
ReplyDeleteThe guys in dresses who like something from Dr. Who.
ReplyDeleteSo silly, I wonder what the world is coming to sometimes.
Excellent blog...Great photos!
ReplyDeleteThis post had me all smiles! you are completely right....while i do admire the art aspect of many of the high fashion outfits, i am usually left more baffled than anything!
ReplyDeleteFashion can be quite strange, indeed. Some time back my Jacob had to get to a runway gig a couple of hours early, in order to memorize the layout. The collar of the, um... jacket he had to model went way past the top of his head.
ReplyDeleteThat third picture is a trip! Androgyny is awesome when it's done properly.
ReplyDeleteI know I commented on this before BUT-
ReplyDeleteYou should know that on today's post I nominated you for the Liebster award! Just stop by my blog to see what to do :)
Thanks so much Rachael :)
