Haha, don't adjust your set, dear reader - you are indeed seeing double :) I ran out this afternoon and picked up a second pair of these adorable little shoes I've been wearing non-stop this summer. This isn't the first time I've bought a second set of the same pair of shoes - I do so quite regularly. Next spring who'll be laughing... !
Shortly after I'd arrived back home, my sister called me and I mentioned my errand. "Oooh," she said "Is this blog-worthy?" Hmmm... I'm not sure if she was being sarcastic or not (I have my suspicions!) - but, truth be told, I had already been thinking the same thing as I drove home. When you have a blog, you tend to see and run your entire life through the 'blog-filter'.
Well, I guess you have your answer Michelle! It is.
Do you buy things in multiples when you see a great deal or just plain love something? I am very proud of myself for not procrastinating this task and then finding out they were all sold out of green, size 7. Another thing I'm not going to put off any longer is starting my Christmas shopping - especially the stocking stuffers. I have been thinking the time to start is now - not in October and November when it's cold and the stores are busy. Many thanks to Sarah for giving me a reminder... even if it came in July :)
HA! I knew it was blog-worthy! You ARE brillant for running out and getting another pair. I have done that for Brooke, liked a shirt or skirt so much I went back and got the next size up!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Aren't I, though? It must be genetic :)
DeleteHa Ha, I tend to buy 2 of something if I really like it - particularly t-shirts. Most of the styles/colours are so ugly I figure If i like something I'll need it for a few years till the styles change. Never told anybody though. Thought I was the only multiple shopper out there. And, they are cute shoes, I completely understand! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Francie, That's wise of you - it gets harder and harder every year to find clothing that I like - some years to colours they are pushing are hideous and they are poorly constructed as well.
DeleteHahaha...I love this post. Every time I'm doing something, or I'm out somewhere, I always wonder if it's blog-worthy!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I do buy multiples of something I really, really like. And especially since I moved to Kingston. Seems that once something runs out here, it's gone. Smaller city, less change of a return. And sometimes I find an amazing something or other that I may never find again, so I stock up. I learned this the hard way. Two years ago, I bought the perfect jeans but only 1 pair. I went back after a couple of weeks to get more and they were all gone. They've never returned. HUGE mistake on my part. Never again.
I figured as much Martha - seems just about everything is our muse now :)
DeleteI hear you on the jeans - perfectly fitting ones are gems when you find them. Two falls ago I actually purchased 3 pairs of the same jeans (returned for 2 more the next day) - I actually wish I'd purchased more of them because I haven't seen them since.
Oh this is sure blog-worthy stuff. I love your shoes...all of them....lol
ReplyDeleteI also have bought 2 of the same pair of shoes on occasion, also pants and tops in different shades that I liked.
Enjoy your new shoes Jane, all four of them....
Lol, if only I had more than two feet huh?!
DeleteYep! Me too... I buy 2 of something all the time. Glad to know I'm not the only person that does this.
ReplyDeleteI need to do this in more areas of my life - ie: sheet and towel sets - which I am always needing more of for some reason.
DeleteI love this idea...and I love the shoes!
ReplyDeleteI have been practically living in them - I am pretty sure I'll wear them out by end season, so I knew I'd be wishing I had another pair come next spring :)
DeleteI rarely buy multiples of things and sometimes regret it later. And I've already got a bag of stocking stuffers in the back of my closet, slowpoke! Hee hee.
ReplyDeleteHaha - I'm impressed - I have some catching up to do I see!
DeleteYes yes and more yeses in buying 2 of the same shoes. My mom taught me that as a little girl buy 2 pair if you like them. Plus it really is time to think about Christmas shopping. I have a few things put a way.
ReplyDeleteYour mom's advice was spot on :)
DeleteNice shoes! Yes I buy multiples when I find something that fits beautifully and that I like. This spring I bought 4 pairs of the same style of capri pants in 4 different colors. There was a 5th--yellow--and the only reason I didn't buy that pair is because I have no other clothes in yellow! I have also purchased several pairs of the same shoe!!
ReplyDeleteI think that was very smart of you. Hmmm.... maybe I should be picking up another pair or two of these!
DeleteIt is funny how blogging makes you suddenly look at things differently. I often see something that interests me and wonder if I can write a post about it. Nice shoes! I have frequently bought a second pair of shoes I really like, and if that second pair is in the sale, so much the better! I also buy favourites in different colourways. I did once come unstuck though, walking the kids to school, I realised I was wearing one brown and one black loafer!
ReplyDeleteI find myself much more observant about the most minute things since starting this blog. Always nice when you can find it on sale :) Lol, someone I know went to work with two different shoes on once!
DeleteAre you serious?? Shoes are VERY blog worthy! :) And we wear the same size, so if you decide you don't like them... just saying. LOL
ReplyDeleteI will keep you in mind when I'm bargain-hunting :)
DeleteYes! Shoes are very much blogworthy! I do that as well, especially if I realise that I'll love something for ever! It just has to be done. Those little shoes are lovely, very cute - so I'm glad you raced out and got a second pair. I rarely write about my life because I'm pretty sure people would soon be wondering how I type while trussed up in a straitjacket!
ReplyDeleteWe are all very curious to learn more about your personal life, Sulky - especially the straitjacket... !!!
DeleteOn another note, how are you doing now that your precious Tommy is back on the market? I must admit I didn't see that one coming.
I am a laid back kind of guy, so I don't even replace anything until the first has more holes than I can deal with. But I am right with you on Christmas. We already have half of it bought. We prefer to buy thru the year instead of have all that expense at the end of the year. In fact a couple of years ago we had everything bought AND wrapped by the end of October. It makes Christmas go so much smoother.
ReplyDeleteSpoken like a true man. Most men I know wouldn't dream of replacing their underwear (for example) even if they were down to only a ratty waistband and a few shreds of fabric holding them together, lol!!
DeleteI bet that Christmas was a wonderful one - having everything bought and wrapped that early is my dream.
JANE!! Everyone is going to hate me now that you're mentioning Christmas too!! haha! Those are lovely shoes, and yes I do that, particularly with tops as I find it a struggle to get them big enough up top without looking like a potato sack, so when I find a nice cut, I buy multiples in different colours.
ReplyDeleteHaha!! Sarah, I think we should all be thanking you for giving us that push we needed - I know I am :)
DeleteThose shoes are darling! I am always buying multiple items! It saves so much time and aggravation!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly does and I need to do it in other areas of my life. The last two years I have stocked up on canned goods, bathroom tissue, paper towels etc. in the fall (as they went on sale) to the point where I didn't have to run out for them till spring. Nothing I hate more than dragging bulky stuff home in the winter - yuck!
DeleteBlog worthy? You bet!
ReplyDeleteBuying a favorite in multiples? Yep! and have never regretted it!
Starting Christmas shopping in July? Another affirmative! Less stressful!
I have to second that statement - I can't think of anything I've purchased in multiple that I've regretted. Occasionally I've even given them away as gifts - which is handy in itself.
DeleteOMG, Jane!!! You are like my hubby to likes to "have inventory" of the things he really likes and tells me to get 2 pairs of something I like. Or my mom, who used to by "one in every color" of something she really enjoyed. So blog worthy and so cute :) BTW, the shoes are so adorable. Love them.
ReplyDeleteNot too many men take that much interest - you are very fortunate he does :) Saves so much time and aggravation. Men tend to stick with the same styles for years - so it sure makes sense to buy in multiples.
DeleteJane, this is your blog...exclusively, and whatever 'fancies' you, it sure is 'blog worthy!'
ReplyDeleteLove the cute and comfy shoes, I would have bought a second pair; but in a different color. They look so pretty on your feet!
Great post...anything you post is always a welcome for me and others:D
Thanks Elisabeth :D I guess you're right - it's my space to do with what I will... look out, haha!
DeleteCan write whatever you like on your blog :) love the shoes, you have great feet, & I like what you bought. I don't usually buy 2 pairs of same shoes, but can understand why you would do that :).
ReplyDeleteThanks :) The sky's the limit now...!! I've tucked the second pair away in a closet till next spring.
DeleteHi Jane..such fabulous shoes..enjoy enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a beautiful wkd!
