Today is World Book Day. Ironically, despite the name, this occasion is only officially celebrated in the UK and Ireland. To honor the day I thought I'd share with you artwork created by Brian Dettmer who takes vintage books - anything from dictionaries and medical texts to art and architecture books - and carves them into beautifully intricate sculptures. There are many more examples on Brian's official website. I think they are pretty amazing.

Wow, how unique and interesting! I love the creative mind! :) Thank you for posting so many things I've not seen in this world and would probably never stumble upon if not for visiting this lovely place. :)
ReplyDeleteHi April, I was very impressed with his resourcefulness and creativity. They are kind of surreal looking I thought. I appreciate your encouraging words :)
